Message	and place it on thew valve cover and to ear. Sounds silly but it will amplify the tick when you are on it. Old shop trick. if no long screw driver available any long metal rod. Move it up and down valve cover and place top end to ear. You will be able to isolate the tick to a general area. If it is valves you will here it through the rod.
