I am hearing a loud ticking noise from the engine. I am pretty sure that it is the lifters, but I have been through way too much shit with my Z that I do not want to take any chances. Ok, I have done a good thorough search and found that it is probably my lifters that are making this really loud ticking sound. can't quite figure out where it is, just all over the topp of the engine. I just put a new motor in last weekend that has been sitting for a while. When I first got the Z running, I knew right off the bat that the ticking that I was hearing was the lifters, and it eventually went away. Had the car sit overnight last night, and the ticking is back again. The reason that I am so afraid, Is because the other day when I finally got my car running after 7 long months, I lost an idler pulley on the highwya and in turn lost my timing belt. Believe it or not, the engine survived and runs even better now. I don't know how, but man am I lucky. Long story short, would someone that has a good ear for this kind of thing call me, so I can get another opinion. I have just gone through way to much to just disregard the potential little things. Call it paranoia if you will, but I am afraid my marrage may be on the rocks if I have to rebuild my Z again. My number is (805)238-4920 Thanks in advance.
