Message : concerns that one has when buying an exhaust are...
: a) construction materials... stainless steel vs. aluminized steel. some exhaust systems are stainless all the way through; whereas, greddy and hks are stainless mufflers with aluminized steel piping.

: b) fit & finish... both HKS and Greddy are excellent companies that make quality products. no problems here.

: c) X-pipe vs. H-pipe... X-pipe is reported to have some slight edge in hp gains... probably no more than 3-5hp if that. anyways, Greddy and HKS both use H-pipes.

: so, either company will be fine for you... just a matter of how you like your exhaust to look.

Gee, I thought maybe how it sounds might be a factor :^)
Seriously I know from experience that some exhausts can have a real nice sound above 3,000 rpm and be real "boomy"(strong interior resonance) below that. I have that now after I put some Flowmaster 40's on. I'm looking for a system that sounds good above 3000 and no boomyness. Any ideas?
