Racelogic 's traction control lets you start out with more power than normal using the launch control feature (to build boost before launching), and then continuously modulates the power so that you can utilize as much power as your tires can take in order to get maximum acceleration. The scramble boost button lets you start out with lower power and then switch to a higher setting later on, but that's only 2 different settings versus the infinite number of power modulation that the Racelogic unit provides. Also, the Racelogic computer will be able to compensate for different temperature and surface conditions automatically and instantaneously... with the scramble boost, it's very crude in that you can't be consistent from run to run because of changes in tire temperature, surface condition, etc. etc. You may be able to find a high boost setting with the scramble boost that would provide almost maximum acceleration, but it probably wouldn't be the same for the next run. The best way to use scramble boost at the track is in the higher gears (3rd and 4th). Basically 1st and 2nd gear go to fast to give you time to push the button anyways. So, in 1st and 2nd gears, you'll be accelerating with less than optimal power. But, with the TC system, you'll be at optimum power in all of the gears. The only reason I use my scramble boost button is if I just want to cruise around with low boost to increase engine life, but then if a Viper pulls up next to me, I don't want to try to reset the boost setting on my EVC... I just hit the scramble boost button to get a high boost setting and dust the Viper! At the track, I just run high boost all of the time. Hope this helped! Let me know if you have any other questions! : Let you start out not full blown power, then as speeds picks up more power or boost. All to keep the wheels from spinning.
