Sure, they might sound cool, and the idea of owning one might be appealing to your offroad of "cool" sense, but they are not worth the money.
Being in the Marine Corps Motor Transport field, I get to drive HMMWV'S quite often. Although they there is perty much nothing that can stop them, (except some LVS rutts that I've cut in the mud the day before, but thats another discussion) they are not worth the money. After one day of driving one hard offroad, they got to be inducted into the shop for quite a few broken things on it.
If you want to be constantly doing repairs and basically be a certified desiel mechanic to even start to repair the damn thing, spend your money elsewhere.CowBoy
