Message Pistons are always a good idea because they lighten the reciprocating mass; thus, you get faster revving. But, it doesn't seem like they're in your budget, so I would say forget about them. Same with rods... the stock ones will hold 600+hp, so, they'll be fine for the 2530's.

I can't tell how much the porting/polishing helped because I did it at the same time as the turbo change. My built engine makes 10-40hp more than a stock engine with the same turbos, so I'm sure that the porting/polishing and cams helped out to some degree. Also, my turbo housings were polished too, but that probably helps more with spool up than giving more hp.

I think you'll do just fine with a stock engine and the 2530's... QQQQman pulled 520ish rwhp with that setup if I remember correctly. good luck.
