the engines ability to flow the air. since engines are nothing more than air pumps, with forced induction you will gain hp at same boost level by allowing the engine to flow the air easier/faster/smoother. combine that with fine tuning mixture and timing and reduced reciprocating weight and you will gain significant rwhp at same relative boost level. With normally aspirated engine you would also gain but not nearly as much of couse and may even lose low end hp/torque ( gains on the top end )due to reduced back pressure.
