: 1. easy operation with the dremel? will the paint start cracking if i'm not careful? Yes, you use a dremel to cut the slits open as long as you have it set on a high speed. Fiberglass tends to chip and crack if you;re not using a fast enough cutter. However, since it's been painted already, you stand the risk of cracking paint and therefore might need to have the panel repainted. : 2. do i have to worry about rain getting in since the intake is directly below the panel? For a single POP, no. And here's why I wouldn't recommend it. Cutting open the louvered panel is a nice "show thing" to do but if you drive it in the rain etc like I know you do, it's not a very good idea to do so (unless you have an extra "closed" panel with you in the car). Also, regarding the HP discussion by crZ32, I agree with him. My louvered panel is cut open and occasionally I'll put my stock "closed" panel back on. I do notice the car runs a little better with the "closed" panel. I don't have a dyno sheet to prove this but I can feel it. Plus it is a high pressure zone and unlike the ducted panel version, the open louvers do not increase the pressure per Vee Zee. Just my observation and 2 cents.
