If you are going for the ultimate in motorcycle muscle, definitely the V-Max! The V-Max came stock with 140hp! An excellent drag bike. If you are looking for a slice 'n' dice crotch rocket, the V-Max is *NOT* the way to go. Here is an article about its following: Cult Of The V-Max. Issue: July, 1999 The bike that's most comparable to a V-8 musclecar N Yamaha's long- running V-Max N also attracts a cult following in Europe. Most popular in Germany, France and England, the V4 monster gains turbo, nitrous oxide and a host of other tuning mods in a search for ultimate horsepower, with some examples putting out over 250bhp at the rear wheel. Scary. True to national stereotypes, when it comes to customising the Mad Max machines, the British like a handling improvement package, with a little engine tuning on the side; the Germans go for hi-tech engineering mods; and the French go overboard on weird bodywork and styling accessories. Henry Doyle, boss of Exactrep in Coventry, England, says that V-Max buyers are a different breed and will spend serious money on making the bike look the part. His company makes, or imports, just about everything for the V-Max, and he notes add-ons like twin air scoops or bikini nose fairings are hot sellers. COPYRIGHT 1999 Advanstar Communications, Inc.
