My buddy sold his Prelude (early 90's, when they were cool) so he could have a bike with no payments. He bought a GSX-R 600, a '93 if I remember right. Well, he was conservative with it most of the time, and could finally take me on the turns. I drove an '85 Z31 with a '91Z engine (I wish I still had that digital dash). Anyway, he was supposed to meet me for lunch one day and after an hour or so of waiting, another friend and I went to lunch on our own. We past E. Valley Blvd in Escondido, Ca just in time to see my buddy life flighted out of the wreckage. My friend and I identified him by the remains of the bike, cracked helmet, and torn apart jacket that the paramedics had cut from his limp body. Apparently some soccer mom in a van pulled in front of him, saw him, freaked and slammed on her brakes, directly in his path. From the skid marks, it looked as if he almost swerved out of the way, but not quite. He caught his leg between the bike and van at about 50 MPH. Luckily, he survived, but not easily. He was comatosed for 3 days, his spleen was in three pieces, and he's left with a limp for the rest of his life. And this guy was a smart rider, but nothing he could do. Go with a Sentra, Yugo, even a Supra vice a bike - F8IZHIS
