Message : i just want to know, cuz i do that all the time...i thought that it would be a little harder on the brakes, but less stress on the engine than using engine braking, oh well...at what speeds is it space to put it into neutral?
: thanks

downshifting puts a little more strain, not putting it into neutral. you got it mixed up.

use your brakes, that's what they're on the car for. pads are cheaper than transmissions and engines.
