So my dilemma is this. I've wanted a 300ZX for a long time now. Awhile back I got partway there when I bought my '78 280Z (which is what I'm driving now). Problem is I'm just not satisfied with the power and the lack of oh say...power steering, windows, doors, breaks, good stereo and the fact that it IS 23 years old and starting to wear a little...yeah just a LITTLE ;) So anyway I thought "Why not sell my Z and upgrade to....A BETTER Z!" Sounds like a great plan. Of course the TT was the OBVIOUS choice. However, since I'm still driving my 280Z I noticed one other thing that bothered me. It only has 2 seats. Noticing that it dawned on me that SO DOES THE TT. Well, that creates a problem when you want to go cruising with 3 of your other friends and show off your Z. It also creates a problem when you and a friend roll up to a party, meet 2 fine chics and you and your friend want to take them back to your place "Ooops sorry chum, you'll have to find another ride home cuz it me and her and thats all that'll fit." You don't keep too many friends like that :( So I thought about it and I'm thinking I need a 4 seater car. I looked over the 4 cars of my dreams (i.e. 300ZX TT, RX-7 TT, Supra TT, 3000GT VR-4) ((Gotta love the non-conformity with the whole VR-4 thing...)) And I noticed that out of all of those, the only one that kept the TT's and had 4 seats was the 3000GT. So I began to research the 3000GT VR-4. It seemed perfect 300hp (or 320 depending on year) 4WD for the hardcore 5k launches AND 4 seats. Problem is I just don't like the 3000GT community. I started reading their posts (got to the one where they started insulting the 300ZX) and I noticed myself instinctively DEFENDING the Z car (I didn't post btw but I noticed some TT.net ppls there ;). So buying a 3000GT just seems, wrong to me. But I just can't find any other 4 seater cars with the power and stylish curves for the price range I'm looking in. (somewhere under $14k). Buying a 3000GT would be like getting adopted to another family when you're 17 and you really like your old family better. (Not that it happened to me) So here I am (apologizing for this agonizingly long message) begging for your opinions. What do you guys think. Here are my options
a) 300ZX 2+2 (get it to stage VI and maybe NOS...ok definitely NOS)
b) 3000GT VR-4 (cuz they all come with 4 seats)
c) Say "To hell with my other 2 friends...I want a TT!"
d) some 4th option/car I've over looked Thanks for all your help! Us newbies appreciate it! It's what keeps up coming back and alienates newbies at 3si.org
