I just was reading some newsgroup postings about this, and from what I gather it's going to be hard to find the real number to get for a few reasons. One reason is that the temperature goes up as you compress the air, so the reading will be higher. There is a formula for that, P2=P1*(V1/V2)^1.4 .But this assumes that no heat is lost, when in reality some heat will be absorbed by cylinder wall, head, and piston. Another issue is that the intake valve probably doesn't close exactly at bottom dead center, so when trying to find the CR, it would be more accurate to divide the volume above the piston at TDC by the volume above the piston when the intake valve closes instead of BTC.
