I wouldn't worry about what you told the cops. you had to slow down in order to accomodate the road conditions and it's her fault for not keeping far back enough to avoid you. I'd do what AshsZ recommends and you have to remember that once her insurance company or yours commits to repairing your car at one shop, if the mechanic finds anything FURTHER wrong with you car, like axle or god knows what... the insurance company has to cough that up too. Also if you have recent pics of your car and any recipts for mods, have them handy and show them to the shop telling them you want your car back in the exact condition it was. The insurance company will call it a total loss btw if the cost of repair is something around 75% or more of the KBB value of the car. and give you that money (KBB i believe). you can then use it to fix your car or sell it and buy another.
