Journal bearings have issues with oil starvation in high-G cornering and vertical/horizontal inertial loads, where BB turbos shine the most by not requiring a cushion of oil to survive and don't lose RPM as quickly during shifting. BBs for track use, Journal bearings for normal street. Not to mention the cost comparison. "Vibrations" can be absorbed by the oil cushion but in combination with high-G situations can bottom out and damage the bearing. I've seen many journal bearing turbos fail at the track, it's incredibly rare to see a BB turbo fail in that environment.
