In Reply To Jeebus. 10k between oil changes on a turbo car? posted by MixManMash on June 17, 2022 at 01:15 PM

Message I would get as close to 20,000 miles between oil changes on my 98 4 cyl. Accord.
I would Probally only change my oil filter every couple years.

Several times I would drive 40 miles with the oil light on.
I recall ( I wish I would’ve video taped this ) I changed the oil after the light was on for a while and I only got about 1/2 C black tar with silver sprinkles in it to come out.
I would go years without replacing the air filter. I know this because a I would put a piece of masking tape with the date on it if the last change. Maybe 1x a year I’d take it out give it a good shake and put it back in.

Most reliable car ever.

Forced to sell it a couple years ago when the fuel tank and lines started to rust and my kids started to get headaches from driving to school (wimps).
When I started to “prepare” in the event of a fire and thought “ ok if the car starts on fire which kid do I save 1st”. That was when I grew up and bought a big boy car (Avalon Hybrid).

I sold the car with 468,000 with a set of 5 year old Blizzaks for $700.
