Message	doubt they filter better. but i think they filter good enough that using them will cause no harm to an engine if properly maintained. same as a Fram oil filter. i don't use them, but if changed regularly along with the engine oil i believe they work well enough to cause no issues. here is an old article. https://www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html
