Message Than I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, in theory. Helicoil is used on cylinder head bolts, that are torqued to high levels and withstand combustion pressures. But the engine block is a bit different than a single rod. I would advise against doing it. You can install it incorrectly, which could prove to be catastrophic(ask me how I know how a rod letting loose feels like..). You’ll sleep better at night if you either wait, or order a single one. Or sell your 5 rods to someone else who is willing to wait for a 6th to arrive
