So the fall is always a great time to buy cars up here. It WILL snow and winter only storage isn't that cheap, so cars are always on the market. That said, I wasn't really looking to add a project, let alone two. I have plenty of unfinished messes going on already. But ... I have always wanted an LP2 VerTT as a signature car. Hard to find of course but I figured a triple black NA in need of paint would be a good place to start. Black interior instead of bone - paint it LP2. Easy peasy. Well outta the blue, one showed up about 8 hours out in Salmon Arm. 93, triple black AT, US car with 150 k miles, clean title. So I called my buddy TurboJ (Z guy and professional sports car hauler) and he was going right by Salmon Arm partially empty on Sunday. Bamm - deal done. Then on Wednesday, an original 91 Canadian spec Two owner CRP TT hit the market about two hours away. The second owner has had the car for 4 years, added 2500 miles. Odometer at 155 kms (98 k miles). Dealer serviced, Timing belt done 6k ago along with new factory struts and a new clutch. Interestingly the Nissan dealer installed a new clutch, but not a rear main seal LOL (yes it is leaking now). They did the timing belt, but no re-seal or water pump. And original 29 year old fuel damper and regulator are still on the car - facepalm. Anyways, drove out to see it last night with my lovely wife and bought it too. Drove it home even though I don't really have room either. I can make somebody a really good deal on the Vert :-) Pics ...
Great bones...just heeds a combo AT-MT-TT swap and some breathers and paint ....
On to the CRP TT ....
Super happy and back in one piece. Had to boot my son out of the home garage to make room. Oh well - he should back at University anyways - Damn Covid ;-)
It was a beautiful evening drive. And the stock car rides beautifully, although I will admit that there were a few moments where I missed the other 200+ RWHP ...
Peace!
