Anti-friction is more of an insurance policy during times like start up when oil isn’t flowing. After that it’s not doing much since oil is doing what it does. That being said there is some small benefit. Ceramic coatings as thin as they use are a waste. I tried finding some concrete data showing otherwise and the best I could find was a half HP increase on a 300HP vehicle. Which is in the noise to me. I also had the benefit of working with a coating company in Charlotte NC who said the benefits of ceramic coating engine internals a was a waste. I wouldn’t call it a gimmick. It’s just the benefits are very very small.
