hot before the last tests as well, and used 89, and all the basic stuff, and I even tried to retard the timing by 5 degrees, but since I was like 10 degrees advanced to begin with, I was still advanced when I went and took the tests. The real key to unlock the mystery was getting the datascan tool and realizing there was a special mode to enable to set base timing, once that happened, and I made a special extender to hook up the timing light, it all started making sense. I kept going down weird places because the timing was jumping all over the place due to (thanks Bernie), the 16 bit ECU, you had to enable base timing and all of the sudden, the timing mark stayed steady, and I could finally time it. It was a long road, too long of a road. But I wouldn't have gotten it sorted out without all the help from everybody here.
