Message	issue with these transmissions that still isn't clear. It could be totally unrelated to the fluid for all we know. I'm not sure if anyone has gone in and looked at the input shaft bearing on a whining '98 before, so it might be enlightening. It would just suck to get a new unit and have the same issue. Maybe the factory installed bearing is incorrect and it needs to be replaced before installation or something nutty like that.
