Message	to add more if needed. I was going to try the thread tape also, but apparently, mine decided to go play hide and seek. To try to quantify it a little, after bronze shifter bushings installed, I have total lateral play of about 1/2” while in gear. With the blown out OEM piece, and estimating from memory, same play was probably closer to 2”... 1-1/2” if I’m being nice. Again, no idea what a new OEM bushing would yield. Regardless, it’s a world of difference for me, giving what I consider to be a very precise feel. Snug, notchy... in a good way.
