My situation was completely different, but the cause was determined by using a dial indicator at either end of the driveshaft. It turned out the bolt holes on the custom made D/S and the non-Z32 Q45 pinion flange were both 12mm in diameter; and I was still using the original NA 10mm bolts to clamp them together. I found the problem by checking for excessive runout of the shaft by using a dial indicator. Once the two parts were loosened, it was easy to see the problem; but tightened together, I'd have never suspected.
