Message	added advantage that it would help protect paint from extreme engine bay heat, especially the turbo models. Not sure where the 'fire protection' idea came from; except to keep the paint from bubbling up during a fire, but that sounds unlike any OEM mandate for adding a hood liner to a production car. _________________________________________________
