and resurfaced. Historically I remember "people" saying to maintain the step (I don't recall it's height) on the outer surface of the flywheel. The shop I took it to recommended removing the step. It seems to them (and me) that the step actually moves the pressure plate away from the clutch disk, reducing clamping force. Does anyone know Nissan's reasoning for engineering that step, and is important to leave it in the resurfacing process? Thanks in advance
