I did not have any of the barrels replaced or re-chromed...just polished. I just had them refurbished to look as new as possible. My local place charged $110 +/- a wheel and had them back in a few days. That fee also paid for any straightening that needed to be done to the wheel too, along with all the cosmetic refinishing. The biggest challenge is that a lot of places will not touch aftermarket wheels even if the wheels are forged. You will need to shop around to find the right place that you trust. Best bet would be to send in 1 or 2 wheels 1st and see how they comes back.
