Message Advances everywhere from computerized engineering architecture, robotic assembly techniques, electronic engine management systems, even tire technologies put every manufacturer with reach of building a their own 'halo cars'. Even brands whose market bread and butter are pedestrian people movers have the wherewithal to put an enthusiast's dream car into production. Usually its the long term market strategies which decide against it; but that is new. In the past it was their basic inability to build one for a reasonable costs.

Look at how quickly the Koreans moved upstairs. Now compare that to time it took the Japanese in their upward trek in pursuit of the Germans.

I agree that as sedan markets shrink in favor of elevated seating platforms; many manufactures with view their hook in the sedan market to be sport sedans, and nobody knows more about that than the boys from Bavaria.
