Message In pushrod V8's I always use break in oil.

In the VG's and other OHC engines I use 5w30 conventional. I always heard no synthetic for the first few thousand miles to promote ring break in (less chance of glazing)

Change oil after cam break in on pushrod engines
Change oil at 500 miles on both
Change oil at 1500 miles
Change oil at 3000 miles
Next oil change as normal, switching to conventional
