i've been experimenting hacking up a timing belt cover for adjustable cam gears...first attempt didn't turn out great and because of all the grooves i'm not sure my machinist can do much in terms making covers of the holes cut of and it still look nice then i stumbled upon this post: https://aus300zx.com/xenforo/index.php?threads/cam-belt-cover-mod.301393/ it seems to expose the bottom of the timing belt under the top idler pulley...i'm wondering if anyone has ever done this and had any issues? I rather not let a rock ruin my engine than to have easier access in removing the covers. or does anyone have a better solution than just leaving it as is and dealing with removing the water pipes? I do think of it you're only really doing it one or two times because once you set the gears you really shouldn't need to set them again
