Best combustion happens with a cylinder head temp of 198ºF.
Any colder you get incomplete burn and spark blow out. Colder thermostats were great back in the carburated days when dropping cylinder head temps dropped intake manifold temps and fuel temps thus cooling IATs.. Their intakes were right on top of the engine/intake manifolds.
