Message	by 2000 rpms and probably about 350 ft lbs at 3000 rpms. the torque converter then effectively multiplies this torque. This works to let the auto cars have a taller first gear. On top of that, the autos have a taller top gear. This is in a 4 speed transmission, but the torque converter works like another gear when it locks up. On top of this all, shifts work well at full throttle.
