Message I've impacted the cam gears off/on many times with my 3/8 gun without any issues. My gun in Mode 2 will go to 75 ftlbs, I then torque it finally down once the belt is on and trans in gear. IIRC the intake gears should see about 90-100lbs, which IMO a 3/8 gun does well. Not that it's the "proper" way of doing it, but I've not once had an issue with it, and I've probably done it 10 times.

If you're torquing them down please use a quality torque wrench like Snap on, and not some Harbor Freight one. I've seen many inaccurate off-make torque wrenches.
