Message	reading. If you can react fast enough, assuming you aren't going a crazy amount over the limit, you can be saved. I have saved myself a few times with laser detection and fast reactions. Sometimes with traditional radar, cops will keep it off until they see a car coming that looks like it is speeding. Then, when they turn on the radar, your detector gives off, but it is way too late. They get your speed almost instantaneously.
