your safety under the car with increased stability. It also allows a creeper to roll around underneath which makes the job just plain easier. NOTE - on my 2+2 i didn't need to raise the car enough to get the tranny bell housing out from underneath. There was enough room with exhaust removed to just roll in back on tranny jack for good access to clutch plate area. Not sure if the same for a coupe? FYI - the top block in the picture has an issue. Center 2x should be supported by another 2x4 on the bottom - not have a 1.5 inch gap.
