Message	and never paid even close to that much. Both times were for convenience because I just didn't have the energy or time to do it myself. However, both times we agreed on a "not to exceed" price, and the quote was based on the work, not on hours. So if they needed to replace something else, for example, the price could go up if I agreed. But simply taking too long couldn't raise it above the NTE. Both times were a full service shop owned by a Z-owner. Maybe I just got lucky, but no way I would pay $5k to put a motor in and add a few bolt-ons.
