| I've had senior engineers design parts that look good, are not impossible to manufacture, but totally impossible to assemble. However the common "WTF was this engineer thinking" is very often coming from a viewpoint with only part of the necessary information. There are a lot of factors that weigh in on a design and often there are some critical factors that prevent the "logical" solution. Yamasan was lucky he had power over the engineers to force them to take the hard route.
