| They are looking very closely for ALL smog equipment to be in place. This was my experience over 5 years ago: Yo-Todd And yes, I tried explaining the car had been upgraded to '93+ emissions equipment but they didn't buy it as they said "the computer says 1990 cars are supposed to have the air injection equipment...,.". They're just following the prompts on the screen - no independent thinking is allowed (if they want to keep their smog license). And for all those saying "move to another state", keep saying that while you're digging your winter beater out of a snow bank. :-) But seriously, while California sadly leads the country with this insanity, don't get too comfy thinking your state won't follow suit some day.
