I graduated 3rd in a class of 20, and drive a Z4 m coupe all the time. The spin happened on a cold, wet road, straight ahead from 40mph, wheels straight....turbos spooled with light accelerator press and the rear end went out like it was on ice. Steering into the spin almost worked, but not really as the rear wheels never gripped again....of course i came off the gas instantly, did not brake, but maybe should have depressed the clutch pedal to eliminate the engine braking? Slow, spin on a narrow road with a guard rail that ate my passenger side front and caught the wheel, munching it and tearing up everthing attached to it. So,, what did i do wrong? Other than drive the car on a cold night with a wet road....which I regret and will NEVER do again. (I am rebuilding the car, btw) (.....but I need a Yoko AVS 17x9 offset 38 wheel to complete the job, HELP!) The m-coupe would have just kept going straight (traction control on). Would love to get in the zcar with an instructor in a safe (open) place and re-create the unfortunate experience to learn what I did wrong and what to do. My real fear is recreating the same experience at 90mph on a DRY road.
