I think you greatly underestimate the number of people who actually do know what is in their interests individually and collectively. I'm not saying they're right, but they certainly aren't being hoodwinked. Everyone knows exactly what they are signing on for and that appears to be exactly what they want. This is why no one cares about all these things that otherwise would have ended any other campaign. Because they are not important enough to outweigh what they want. It looks like the people are applying their own measure of "ends justifies the means" to destroy the corrupt political structure in the US political system, after having it applied to them constantly for decades. If they had to vote for Mr Bean to accomplish this end, they will do so....at this point there really can be no fault assigned to the average American outside of the political aristocracy who has been turned into a subject of the state, a means to the state's ends. 200 years ago we resolved this situation with gunfire and stacking dead british bodies. All of this happened courtesy of the internet which unlocked information from the hands of the dishonest and complicit. Let the chips fall where they may. Control freaks be damned.
