The reason for the low resale value is because it was the best selling 90's JDM super car. If I recall correctly there were over 89K Z32s sold. The FD RX7 only sold 14K, the MKIV supra sold about 11K units and the NSX sold less than 9K units, that's why they command such a high resale value, because they are rare. On the other end of the spectrum we have the 3000GT that sold 79K units, and look at the resale values on those cars. The Z32 is truly undervalued, and should never be a sub 5K dollar car because of the high maintenance costs associated. I do believe that it will become a collectors car just like the 1st gen Mustang, those cars still command a premium despite selling over 1 million units.
