I'm trying to get a sense of the time it takes for the turbos and engine to cool down. In the old days people installed turbo timers in hopes of prolonging turbo life. To install such hardware seems really dumb and overkill to me when all you really need to know is the amount of time it really takes to cool things down. It should be pretty easy to measure once and then you know exactly and can idle the engine appropriately (or run it at 2,200 rpm at no load to keep the oil cooler going if that's faster). This will increase turbo life, shouldn't take nearly as much effort as installing a turbo time, plus then you know exactly when things have stabilized. This is an overzealous thing I admit.
