Message I have the 17Z's as well, but I'll be making my own brackets like you were planning to. I don't like how Jake I's brackets rotate the caliper beyond parallel with the ground (more towards 4 o'clock rather than 3 - if that makes sense), plus I have RPF1's which are notorious for crappy BBK clearance.

I went with the 14" Akebono's that Z1 sells, and they're well over 30lbs a piece (can't remember exactly but they're heavy). I would suggest 2 piece if you have the cash.

Also, throw a bit of high temp JB Weld in all the recessed areas from the casting process and they look WAY nicer, not so industrial and cheap.
