Message accomplish. Glass beads might be a better option. Make sure to clean them THOROUGHLY afterwards, prior to powder coating as some of the pulverized glass can trap itself in microscopic books and crannies, ruining the finish of the powder coat. As said in the thread below, I'm not a fan at all of sand as blast media (or coal slag for that matter). For metal parts, I use aluminum oxide in various grits or glass beads with great success.
