Message I think you are right. ST are the easiest in terms of pre-package BBK....sort of PnP for folks who just want to be able to go to track days and not have to delve into technical matters of evaluating hardware to prevent unwanted side-effects of fooling with the braking system.

IMHO ST is far preferable, by leaps and bounds, over frankensteining calipers from other OEM braking systems into the Z32 braking system. Unless you know what you need to know, it is inviting all sorts of unwanted issues, some may be immediately realized, others longer-term in nature.

This is where ST really exploits the market. In the US, the price of entry into the world of track days and high HP machines is extremely low in relative terms to the rest of the world. This creates a marketplace where a large portion are simply looking for a PnP solution that gets the job done with an appropriate level of quality. ST realizes this and capitalized on it. It doesn't mean they suck. It just means if their competitors realized the situation as well as ST did 10-15 years ago, then they would not have lost so much ground in terms of market share to ST in the US.

I didnt see a single car at the Nordschleife or Spa-Francorchamp with ST....I wasn't really keeping track though. Nor do I know if it is even distributed in Europe, I don't think Wilwood is....but AP Racing was ubiquitous. The price of entry is MUCH higher in Europe to be a car guy, much less one who frequents track days....as a result the typical car guy tends to have more knowledge on the matter, or can afford to hand the car over to someone with that knowledge to put the correct/appropriate braking setup on their car.
