The general feeling of bastardization of the brand by changing the 'heart' of the car to another manufacturer, or that the LS is the too obvious solution as a go-to. I've been on the fence about this because as much as I respect Nissan engineering, at some point there is a better mousetrap. I'm to the point now that I'm OK with this because a) the LS is SO much better than pretty much anything else you could drop in for the money. Simple, powerful, plentiful, fuel injected (as opposed to the basic SBC) and a huge aftermarket. b) the Z has nothing to 'prove' anymore. It's OK to step outside the lines now. my .02$
