| might not be, and people who typically spend on audio, go thru various phases of what they do & don't like and therefore the speakers tend to change, including the sizes, mounting requirements, etc. I would avoid cutting if at all possible. The mirror triangle option seems far more sensible, you can hack that piece up and it is far simpler & presumably cheaper to replace.
