Message	MAP or have a blow through MAF setup that puts the MAFs after the recirc are the only time you really could vent to atmosphere like a BOV does. Otherwise recirculating is the best way. If you think you need to flow more air than the stock recircs can handle, look to Synapse or Tial recircs (aka diverter valve). Only if you are noticing compressor surge do you really need to flow more.
