Message Most of the inspections are only visual. Emissions techs are not allowed to disassemble anything looking or testing. I've taken my Z to very by the book shops and they couldn't tell that I don't have EGR. I've also had no trouble being TT swapped. The CA cars have an EGR temp sensor that reports if the EGR is working, but the Federal cars do not. My Z is from Oklahoma and I've had no issue passing smog. It's always easiest to find a shop that's not too picky, but as long as you haven't gone full retard on the build you should be fine. Dual maf is not a problem either.
