Subject	Alternative solutions for quarter glass weather stripping?

Message	Nissan lists the weather stripping with the glass itself and the moulding. At ~$210 a side its pretty pricey. Mine are beat and was trying to think of another solution that would look clean. I know auto glass guys often cut off the molding and lay in new weather stripping on the face of the seam (not actually removing and replacing the entire seal) using adhesive. The part where the hatch shut down is the worst and spit in spots. Has anyone else come up with any solutions?
